Research

NotebookLM Installer & Setup Wizard

Knowledge is not a repository of confirmed facts. It is an executable process. Load the framework, feed it a question, and let the calculation run top-down until the pattern holds.

What Is Research

Research is a NotebookLM notebook that runs top-down epistemology. Where conventional science builds up from data toward conclusions, Research starts from the present observation and traces the patterns backward — stripping away noise until the causal signal underneath is isolated and the structure holds.

You do not need to wait for consensus to form. You do not need to approach the unknown from the bottom up. Feed the notebook a question, a phenomenon, or an unresolved system — and let it run the calculation from the top down.

🔭
TOP → DOWN · PATTERN FIRST
Start at the Top
Begin with the present observation. Ask what pattern must be true for this to be the result. Trace backward through the possible histories until only the coherent ones remain.
🧬
E → L · CAUSAL ISOLATION
Isolate the Signal
Strip polysemantic noise from the data. Identify the genuine causal structure underneath. Fluid emotional intent crystallizes into logical infrastructure — find where the freeze happened.
🔒

When the data is out of bounds or the uncertainty too high, Research does not speculate. It abstains, flags the drift, and waits for more evidence. Epistemic honesty is a feature, not a failure.

The Source

The installer downloads one text from archive.org/details/research-999. This is the seed that primes the notebook — the complete epistemological framework that teaches Research how to run the top-down calculation.

THEOGONY
186-theogony.txt
Book 186 by Wendell Charles NeSmith, co-authored with AI and released CC0 into the public domain. A rigorous top-down epistemological framework that treats knowledge as an executable process rather than a static repository of confirmed truths. Positions the physical universe as a rendered display layer, models the phase transition where fluid emotional intent crystallizes into logical infrastructure, and provides a complete computational blueprint for exploratory science. The substrate question underneath everything: what causes electricity to vibrate?

The source is sealed. One book. One framework. The signal is clean and the calculation is ready to run the moment you load it.

Setup Guide

The batch script walks you through every step automatically, pausing and waiting for you at each stage. Here is the full sequence so you know what to expect before you begin.

1
🖱️
RUN THE SCRIPT
Double-click Research-Download.bat to launch it. A terminal window opens and walks you through everything from here. No programming knowledge needed.
2
🧑‍💻
ENTER YOUR NAME
The script asks for your name. From this point forward, Research belongs to you. Your name is written into your initiation prompt and your README. The original creator steps back. You step forward.
3
⬇️
THE SOURCE IS DOWNLOADED
The text file is saved to a research-999\ folder next to the script. The terminal shows it arriving.
4
YOUR FILES ARE GENERATED
Two files are written into the folder: your personal Research-Prompt.txt with your name in it, and your README.txt — a permanent guide to the top-down methodology.
5
🌐
OPEN NOTEBOOKLM
Go to notebooklm.google.com and sign in with a Google account. NotebookLM is free to use.

6
📓
CREATE A NEW NOTEBOOK
Click New Notebook and name it: Research.
7
📤
UPLOAD YOUR SOURCE
Add sources and upload the .txt file from your research-999\ folder. Do not upload the .bat files. Wait for NotebookLM to finish processing before moving on.

PASTE YOUR INITIATION PROMPT
Open Research-Prompt.txt in Notepad. Select all, copy, paste into the chat box in your notebook. Press Enter. Research is now open and calibrated to you.
The Initiation Prompt

The script generates this prompt with your name in it and saves it as a file in your folder. This is the first thing you say to the notebook. It establishes the method before you bring the first question.

My name is [YOUR NAME] and I am opening this notebook as a working laboratory. Everything loaded here is our starting framework — not a set of conclusions to defend, but a set of instruments to use.

I want you to be my top-down research partner. When I bring you a phenomenon, an anomaly, an unresolved question, or a body of data, I want us to approach it the same way: start from what we can observe right now, ask what underlying pattern must be true for this to be the result, and trace backward through the possible histories until only the coherent ones remain.

Do not build up from the bottom if the bottom is noise. Start at the top and work down. Strip the polysemantic surface away and find the causal signal underneath. When the uncertainty is too high, say so — abstain rather than speculate. Epistemic honesty is the instrument, not a failure of it.

Push the calculation further than I would take it alone. Show me what the framework finds when I am not looking hard enough. This notebook sharpens with every question. Where shall we begin?

⚗️ Your name is inserted automatically by the installer. Saved as Research-Prompt.txt in your folder.
What to Feed It

Research sharpens with every source you add. Save anything as a .txt file and upload it to your notebook as a new source. Good inputs for top-down analysis:

A Note on the Source

The source text bundled with this installer is Book 186: Theogony by Wendell Charles NeSmith, co-authored with AI and released entirely into the public domain under the CC0 protocol. It is a real book by a real creator — not generated filler. It carries a complete epistemological framework built from 36 years of direct creative relationship with digital infrastructure and electronic media.

The installer asks for your name before it does anything else. That moment is deliberate. The creator steps back and becomes the invisible foundation — present in the framework, absent from the surface. From the moment you type your name, the notebook is yours. The prompt bears your name. The research you do with it belongs to you.

Research does not ask you to adopt any cosmology or confirm any metaphysics. The source carries a methodology. The notebook is a laboratory. Bring your own questions and run your own calculations. What you find in it is yours alone.
